Your Library Card

Who can get a library card, how to apply, and how to use your library card.

Letts residents and rural patron with a Letts address. Or a persons thats community participates in Iowa's Open Access program. Any residents from Grandview.

A Valid card is required for borrowing privileges.

There are no age restrictions for library card applicants

    1. Length of time for loans is three (3) weeks. Books can be renewed one time.

    2. Magazines can be checked out for 1 week.

    3. Music Cd’s can be check out for 1 week.

    4. Rotation Videos and DVD’s have no rental fee. But there will be a $1.00 late charge per-day.

    5. Library owned Videos and DVD’s rental fee would be $1.00 and also a $1.00 late charge per-day.

    6. Videos and DVD’s are due back the following weekday.

    7. The library will not be held responsible for children’s Video or DVD choices of check out. Provide the form below has been signed.


    Parents must come into the library and sign an agreement giving permission for their child or children to check out videos or DVD's without the parent being present at that time. If this agreement isn’t signed by the parent and on file at the library the child or children will not be allowed to check out videos.

    The parent understands that the rules and regulations stated in the check out rules will be followed.

    8. Eligibility for loans is for persons having a Letts Public Library card or a valid borrower's card from their library.

    9. Library services will be suspended to patrons with overdue books.

    a. After two (2) months, these overdue library items will be considered lost and/or damaged and the patron will be charged for the replacement of the item (s).

    b. There is a fine of $.05 a day the book is overdue, per day open. The money from these fines, lost or damaged items, will go towards the purchase of new books.

    10. Reference Materials.

    a. Encyclopedias, Atlases, or any other reference materials, have in-house use only, and can be copied.
